Objectives

The Greek Council for Refugees (GCR) is committed to providing high-quality legal, psychosocial, and integration services to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece. To ensure long-term organizational effectiveness and sustainability, GCR seeks to strengthen staff competencies, enhance internal knowledge-sharing practices, actively participate in key platforms and networks for advocacy and collaboration, and establish a sustainable fundraising strategy. This will be achieved through a phased approach over three years, enabling incremental growth and sustained impact.

Objectives

- Enhance staff skills and knowledge through targeted training and participation in conferences and workshops.

- Institutionalize knowledge-sharing processes to ensure collective organizational benefits from new insights.

-Support active participation in regional and international platforms and networks.

- Strengthen GCR’s fundraising capacity to ensure sustainability and growth.

Activities

Staff capacity building:

- Deliver tailored training sessions for staff in key areas such as legal aid, psychosocial support, and integration services.

- Facilitate staff participation in regional and international conferences to stay updated on best practices and innovations.

Strengthening fundraising capacity:

- Hire an external fundraiser from mid-2025 to enhance GCR’s fundraising efforts, targeting new partnerships, diversifying funding streams, and ensuring long-term financial stability through a new fundraising strategy which can also cover the cost of training and participation in platforms, networks and fundraiser

Participation in platforms and networks:

- GCR will allocate resources to maintain active engagement in key advocacy and collaboration platforms and networks, such as ECRE, ENAR, Network for the Rights of the Child, EuroMed Rights, United for Intercultural Action Support, Network for the Right to Housing and Accommodation, PICUM, and the Network for the Combating of Poverty.
