Objectives
The main objective of the Project is to promote the lawful implementation of alternatives to detention, instead of administrative detention, which is legally foreseen only as a last resort and in extremely exceptional cases. This will be achieved through drafting and promoting a policy brief, which will outline the means to put in place and the relevant mechanisms to ensure the implementation of alternatives to detention; through trainings to ensure that key stakeholders are well informed on all aspects towards implementation of these mechanisms; and through raising awareness activities to increase the pressure for change.
Activities
•Συγγραφή και διανομή ενός Policy Brief
•Εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια
•Δράσεις αύξησης της κοινωνική ευαισθητοποίησης και advocacy
Results
The planned outcomes are increased knowledge, enhanced procedures and strengthened capacity of national authorities to ensure that alternatives to detention are systematically implemented. The long term impact of the project is that the management of mixed migration respects human rights and pays particular attention to the reception and protection needs of persons in need of international protection, allowing beneficiaries the chance to integrate into the host country successfully.
