Objectives
This project aims to promote and protect children’s rights across Greece, with a focus on refugee and migrant children. It seeks to highlight systemic gaps in child protection, amplify children’s voices in decision-making, and advocate for improved public policies. The initiative also fosters collective action by coordinating the Child Rights Advocacy Network (CRAN) and collaborating with other civil society actors.
Activities
-Participation in relevant working groups at national and regional/local level and joint advocacy actions with other civil society actors.
-Participation in relevant roundtables/conferences/talks at Greek and EU level and additional participation in external advocacy meetings in Brussels or other capitals as appropriate.
-Coordination of the Children's Rights Advocacy Network (CRAN).
-Drafting and publishing investigation and advocacy reports.
Results
-Systematic violations of children’s rights in areas such as education, housing, and child protection were documented, leading to targeted policy proposals.
-Reports and recommendations were submitted to national and EU/international institutions, raising the visibility of child-related issues in Greece.
-Joint advocacy efforts were implemented with Save the Children and other CRAN members, contributing to the development of national strategies on child protection and inclusion.
-Targeted consultations with children and youth enhanced their engagement in public dialogue and ensured a child-centered advocacy approach.
