The project "PYXIDA's Creative Library – Thesaurus" aims to promote creative expression, multilingualism, and meaningful participation of refugee and migrant children and youth. It fosters integration through storytelling, language, and the arts.
It seeks to:
-Empower children as storytellers, creators, and "guardians" of their own cultural narratives.
-Encourage the use of mother tongues while supporting Greek as a second language.
-Create an inclusive, intercultural space for creativity, learning, and collaboration.
-Creation of a multilingual digital library: Children and parents record themselves reading favorite stories in their mother tongue and in Greek, contributing to an accessible online audio-visual library.
-Creative expression and reading workshops: Children participate in thematic workshops that enhance language development, imagination, and self-expression.
-Participation in public events and dissemination: The library and children’s contributions are showcased in schools, community spaces, and festivals.
-Parental engagement: Parents are actively involved in selecting, narrating, and recording the stories.
-Over 80 children and parents actively participated in the project’s activities.
-A multilingual online library was created, featuring recorded stories in Greek, Arabic, Farsi, Ukrainian, French, and other languages.
-The project boosted language confidence, parent-child bonding, and intercultural communication.
-Η βιβλιοθήκη χρησιμοποιείται από εκπαιδευτικούς και επαγγελματίες ως εργαλείο γλωσσικής ενδυνάμωσης και συμπερίληψης.
