a) Promoting a fair and efficient asylum & reception system that respects the rights of persons applying for international protection in Greece and the EU; b) Highlighting the flaws of the ongoing failed "hotspot" approach in Greece and continue advocating for alternatives as discussion on the Pact progress; c) Consolidating and further seeking out legal and political avenues for challenging the current situation at the Greek & EU level.
a) Joint public statements, announcements to react to important/unexpected developments, b) Drafting of 2 reports, c) Drafting and disseminating the existing bimonthly bulletin; d) Visits from GCR Advocacy Officers to islands or the mainland for gathering information and collecting advocacy material which may be included in the bulletin and other joint advocacy products, e) Chairing the Legal Aid sub Working Group in Lesvos from August 2021 until February 2022 (as per the WG’s relevant decisions and procedures); f) Continuous capacity building by Oxfam to GCR through continuous mentoring on advocacy; g) GCR will be available for Oxfam team to discuss context, direct media and other contacts questions (e.g. MEPs); h) Support media trips to Lesvos or elsewhere; i) Referring important legal cases to GCR’s Athens and Lesvos Office.
