new legal framework that risks weakening the safeguards they need most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The brief examines Greece's national legislation implementing the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum and highlights significant concerns for children and families:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A two-tier system for unaccompanied children\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cSafe zones\u201d risk becoming de facto child detention by another name\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children pending age assessment may be pushed into adult\u00a0accommodation\u00a0and prolonged stays in restrictive settings\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restore safeguards in age assessment procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure genuinely independent
